Text LAWSUIT AGAINST SHAMUMANU, OWNER AND TREASURER OF A MARZIH, A SOCIAL BANQUETING CLUB, FROM ITS MEMBERS, THAT HE SHALL REPAY 50 SHEKELS OF SILVER THAT HE HAS STOLEN. SHAMUMANU, ANGERED BY THE ACCUSATION, THREATENS TO THROW THE CLUB MEMBERS OUT OF HIS HOUSE AND RELEGATE THEM TO A STALL, TO TREAT THEM LIKE ANIMALS. WITNESSES: IHIRASHPU SON OF UDRNN AND ABDINU SON OF SIGILDA

Commentary The Ugaritic tablets represent the 2nd earliest alphabet known. It has 30 signs and a word divider.
