Context |
The autograph of KV 492 is in Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin. An early copyist's score from 1786 of Acts I and II is in Donaueschingen library, with substantial changes from the 1st edition published in Paris 1807/08 by Magasin de Musique, plate 566.
The present MS seems to be the only known Stichvorlage of the full score. Due to music variations from the 1st ed., it cannot be for this or the following reprints, nor is it for the 1st German ed. by Simrock, Bonn and Köln, plate 1603.
It could been intended for a full score edition by Imbault in Paris from ca. 1795 which preceded the 1st ed, but not a single copy of this edition survives, so a comparison cannot be made. |
