Commentary Nigel Osborne's (b. 1948) work comprises 5 sections: Medea 2, Little Star-Angel, Radioastronomy, Angel-Nebulae, Gnostic sky. The autograph has introductory notes to the performers, including the notation of quartertones and unorthodox vocal tuning (based on "virtual harmonic series"), explanation about pulsar frequencies and supernova clusters. His work is influenced by the "experimental" harmonies of Caucasus and some acoustic phenomena derived from computer analysis of natural sound. The scale patterns are influenced by Byzantine and Arabic modes and interval patterns from the higher reaches of the harmonic series.
