Commentary Arne Nordheim (1931-2010), the foremost exponent of avant-garde and electronic music in Norway from the 1960'ies and recognized to be among the foremost international composer's in the last quarter of the 20th c. Tenebrae was dedicated to Mstislav Rostropovich, who played the cello part in the first performance at the Kennedy Centre, Washington, 23. Nov. 1982.
