Context Performed in Oslo 10 Oct. 1984. Response III was rewritten again in 1993 under the name Link = MS 5497.

Commentary Arne Nordheim (1931-2010), the foremost exponent of avant-garde and electronic music in Norway from the 1960'ies and recognized to be among the foremost international composer's in the last quarter of the 20th c. Each page of the score represents a duration of one minute. As regards the tape, the score is considered as orientation material. The distribution of sound in the concert hall is left to the person who operates the tape recorder and amplifier panel. In the graphic part of the score, simple codes are used to facilitate identification of filtered noise, sinus tones, filtered metallic and organ sounds, as well as extreme bass complexes of varied materials.
