Description MS in Russian on paper, Russia, 1882-1883, 36 pp., 40x36 cm, single column, (37x33 cm), ruled with 26 staves, autograph with crossings out, corrections, and performance annotations.
Context Pp. 97-110 and 113-134 from the autograph in Glinka State Central Museum of Musical Culture. These pages were removed by Tchaikovsky and rewritten in a much-shortened version in connection with the revival of the opera in 1884.

Commentary Mazepa was the 7th of Tchaikovsky's 10 operas. When published in 1899, the autograph with the inserted revisions was used. The present original full score version is unpublished.
