Description MS in Latin on paper, Wien, early 19th c, (parts) and mid 19th c. (score), parts: 44 vols, 450 pp., 29x23 cm, single column, (25x19 cm), ruled with 10 staves; score: 68 pp., 26x33 cm, 10-13 columns (22x28 cm), ruled with 20 staves, by 9 copyists, one signed J.R. and R. Jak., extensive performance markings, some alterations on strips of paper added to the parts.
Binding Wien, early 19th c., thick cardboard wrappers, painted black with elegant labels, many inscriptions.
Context The full score of the Requiem was published by Breitkopf, 1800, the parts in 1812 by Chemische Druckerei, Wien. Inscription on one wrapper records the parts were used for a performance 21 December 1916 on the occasion of Emperor Franz Joseph I's death.

Commentary This MS represents nearly 200 years of performance history of Mozart's Requiem in Wien. It has been in St. Johan Nepomuk Church the whole period.
