Commentary Thorbjørn Egner (1912-1990) Norwegian author. People and robbers in Kardemomme town is the author's most internationally recognised children's book, together with Karius and Baktus. The Kardemomme law by Police Chief Bastian, known by most Norwegians today, reads: You shall not pester others, you shall be nice and kind, and otherwise you can do whatever you like.
